Neben den zuvor angekündigten Fehlerbehebungen und Verbesserungen, die im Detail dem am Ende des Artikels zu findenden Änderungsprotokoll entnommen werden können, gibt es aber auch frische Spielinhalte und Features. In Zusammenarbeit mit Red Bull werden den Spielern verschiedene Fahrzeugdesigns und ein neuer Gegenstand für den Playgrounds-Modus kostenlos für PC und Videokonsolen zur Verfügung gestellt."Für dieses kostenlose Update haben wir uns mit Red Bull zusammengetan, um euch eine Menge neuer DIRT 5-Inhalte zu liefern! Als Erstes gibt es acht neue Red Bull-Lackierungen. Auf dem üblichen Bildschirm zur Auswahl der Lackierung ist ein neues Design für den Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, den MINI John Cooper Work Buggy by X-raid, den Peugeot 3008 DKR Maxi und den Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 zu finden.
Zoom Für den Porsche 911 RGT steht die offizielle Red Bull Racing Esports-Lackierung zur Verfügung. Der Peugeot 208 WRX schließlich kommt mit drei neuen Red Bull-Lackierungen, darunter Designs, die sowohl von Timmy als auch von Kevin Hansen in der FIA World Rallycross Championship gefahren werden."Außerdem bringt die Aktualisierung auf Version 4.0.3 noch zusätzliche Features mit. Zum Beispiel lassen sich nun nasse und stürmische Witterungsbedingungen für die Playgrounds in Arizona, Südafrika und Italien auswählen und durch Blitze und Regen das Spielerlebnis aufpeppen.
Egal ob auf der Konsole oder dem PC, sind die Spieler in den Online-Multiplayermodi nun nicht mehr länger nur auf die eigene Plattform beschränkt, sondern finden dank der Crossplattfunktionalität nun noch mehr Action. Mit dem Red Bull Revolution-Update rüstet Codemasters ferner die Unterstützung für Geist-Rundenzeiten nach und ermöglicht in Time Trial und Playgrounds die Anzeige der Rundenzeiten aus der globalen Rangliste. Spieler haben somit nun die Chance ganz genau herauszufinden wo sie mit ihrer Zeit stehen und können sich die Rennlinie anderer Spieler ansehen und dadurch auch herausfinden, wo sich durch eine Anpassung noch mehr Zeit herausholen lässt.
