ZoomWie vorab angekündigt, ist für DiRT Rally 2.0 nun das Update auf die Version 1.8 verfügbar das auch die offizielle DiRT Rally 2.0 E-Sport-Serie enthält. Freuen dürfen sich die Spieler zudem über die mit dem vorherigen Update eingeführte kostenlose Teststrecke DirtFish die nun auch im Freeplay-Spielmodus gewählt werden kann.
Weitere Verbesserungen drehen sich rund um die Virtual Reality-Unterstützung und Behebung von Fehlern die in Zusammenhang mit dem Clubs-Feature stehen. Zoom Als Anreiz zur Teilnahme an den am 10. September für PS4, Xbox One und PC (Steam), beginnendem E-Sport-Wettbewerb "DiRT Rally 2.0 World Championship" erhalten alle Teilnehmer die an einer "DiRT Rally 2.0 World Championship Qualifier"-Veranstaltung teilnehmen den BMW M2 Competition im Spiel kostenlos. Die Termine zu den einzelnen Runden gibt es nachstehend. Viertel- und Halbfinale werden am 7. und 8 Dezember via Livestream übertragen.
Während der Qualifiers können die Spieler ihr eigenes bevorzugtes Setup verwenden. In den Live-Finals wird aber ausschließlich mit Lenkrad gefahren. Zugang zu den Qualifiers ist über den World Championship-Tab im Hauptmenü möglich. Die schnellsten Spieler jeder Qualifier-Veranstaltung je Plattform erhalten eine Einladung zur Teilnahme am Viertelfinale.

-Resolved issue where players could not choose a DLC car if they were in a lobby with a host with Season Content access.

Vorschau auf Version 1.9
Ergänzend hat Codemasters die Information veröffentlicht, dass man verschiedene Probleme die nachstehend aufgeführt sind untersucht und diese voraussichtlich mit dem für den 1. Oktober 2019 erwarteten Patch auf Version 1.9 beheben wird.
-We are currently investigating the possibility of supporting Oculus VR headsets natively, via Oculus SDK on Steam.
-We are currently investigating the ways of supporting post-launch content from other platforms on Oculus, and do not have a release date to announce at this time.
-The issues of audio cutting out mid-Stage are expected to be resolved in a future update.
-The ability to spectate in Multiplayer Lobbies is in development and could potentially appear in Version 1.9.
-The ability to use a “Dashboard” camera angle (similar to the one seen in DiRT Rally) is expected to be added in a future update, most likely Version 1.9.
